Trainings

Institut universitaire SHERPA has a long history of developing training programs to support staff in the health and social services network and in community settings. The first basic intercultural training courses were developed under the responsibility of the METISS team in the early 2000s, by Janine Hohl, Fasal Kanouté and Spyridoula Xenocostas. Their aim was to equip health and social services practitioners in their work with immigrant, refugee and immigrant-origin clients.

As part of its ongoing commitment to improving practices and knowledge, IU SHERPA now offers several training courses, both online and in person. These courses are aimed at healthcare and social services practitioners and supervisory staff, in Quebec and elsewhere.
