Understanding the experiences of minority ethnocultural and English-speaking caregivers : insights for better interventions (en anglais)

In this interactive presentation, Josiane Le Gall and Marie-Ève Samson from the SHERPA University Institute will present examples of trajectories of informal caregivers who belong to an ethnocultural minority or English-speaking community (PAGEMA), drawing on findings from a research project conducted as part of the PAG-PPA (2021-2026).

These trajectories are often complicated by factors such as migratory status, employment type, socioeconomic conditions, limited access to adapted services or interpreters, and the absence of a nearby social network, etc. Through short cases inspired from real-life stories, this presentation aims to help you to:

1.  Recognize the complexity of the experiences of PAGEMA individuals caring for a loved one;
2. Identify some of the impacts of this complexity on your intervention practices.

We will also seek your input on the development of practical tools to support interventions for these informal caregivers.
